HISTORY

HISTORY

1910s

In early XXth century, the Champagne house Marion-Bosser began its story through the union of two souls. One in Champagne (Marion) and the other coming to free the region from German invasion during WWI (Bosser).

The couple of Marion & Bosser stayed in Hautvillers to establish the Premier Cru Champagne house Marion-Bosser looking to sublime the grape varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier. In the early beginnings, only few Champagne bottles were released and the assembling process was yet to evolve to the one we know today.

EVERY BEAUTIFUL STORY
BEGINS WITH LOVE

ART & BEAUTY
IN FAMILY'S VEINS

In 1975, grand-mother of Elodie Marion, attending the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, designed and prepared the emblematic image that would be known today as the face of a legacy combining passion for art and love of wine under the symbolism of Bacchus.

Once descending to earth to inculcate the art of wine making to humans, Bacchus seats next to Zeus in the celestial sky to protect and bring joy to societies around the world through feasts and delicacies of nature.

A gentle hommage to the winemakers of the past that made the Champagne we know today. Through ancestral traditions and passions, humans were able to touch a glimpse of what the gods had to offer for them to enjoy in the present moment.

Initially sculpted in bronze gold, the Marion-Bosser Bacchus has been delicately reshaped through time by each daughter taking over the family house as a symbol of modernity and continuity in their legacy. Each of them bringing a humble touch to reach the perfection reflected by the greek god Bacchus in harmony with their Champagne.

COMING BACK TO FAMILY'S ROOTS NEVER-ENDING JOURNEY

Following WWII, Bernadette brought back the family to Hautvillers where the family vineyards remained, waiting for the war to end. Surviving the throes of war, the family came back to its birthplace where it all began. Bernadette, like her grand-mother, decided to pursue her quest to offer a Champagne reflecting the values of the house.

Bernadette dedicated her passion and hard work on her own to create a Champagne that would stand the test of time and express her family's passion and resilience through a delicate but expressive Champagne under the cuvée "Tradition".

She took the initiative, although 46 years old, to study the soils, agronomy and Champagne wine practices to express her passion and love producing a unique Champagne that would later become the exquisite "Brut Tradition" we still enjoy to this day.

Years of mastery and dedication have succeeded to the creation of a single cuvée that would propel "Champagne Marion-Bosser" to standout as an incomparable Champagne to any other and at the same time so anchored in its Champagne roots. Developing uniqueness from the birthplace of Champagne sublimating its origins.

In 2001, Elodie, daughter of Bernadette decided to perpetuate her family's dream and traditions by taking over the family's house following a dedicated preparation.

Following university studies, Elodie"s side passion for perfumes led her to integrate oenology school inspired by her parent's love for wines.

Elodie moved in 2001 to Burgundy to study Beaune's school CFPPA and prepare for the perpetuation of her mothers' dream.

Sharing both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varietals, Burgundy and Champagne enabled Elodie to further perfect the Premier Cru Champagne of her mother.

Champagne Marion-Bosser 2024

Family house in Hautvillers since more than a century, Marion-Bosser family remains in the heart of the birthplace of Champagne in Vallée de la Marne a couple of footsteps from Dom Perignon's Saint-Peter's Abbaye erected in 650 A.D. by the archbishop of Reims guided by a dove.

The Marion-Bosser house dates back to 1438 A.D. where it has always been active in the mastering of Champagne wine. Back in its beginnings, the house prospered through the commerce of grapes and later joined the frenetic movement around the production of sparkling wine for Champagne.

The house remained in the epicenter of Hautvillers at the crosspoint of all other Champagne houses of the village with a direct access by road for the carriages to export grapes to different regions in France. Remains of medieval activities are still part of the Marion-Bosser house as it was initially used as a post office for couriers to distribute news from Paris to the capital of Champagne, Epernay as well as to the coronation place of kings of France in Reims.
